The Driving Force takes anyone who has cancer and is registered with a GP in Bonnybridge, Denny or Banknock to hospital appointments for FREE.

Event: Coffee morning

There will be a Driving Force coffee morning at St Helen's Church hall Bonnybridge on 20th May 10-12. There is always a fantastic selection of home baking so do come if you can.

dialysis patients

We now take people who are registered with a Bonnybridge or Denny GP to dialysis sessions if they do not have their own transport. Please contact your GP reception if you are interested in this and one of our coordinators will contact you.

Fantastic fundraising

Tom & his son Gary raised £2000 at various completions @ Bonnybridge bowing club throughout the year he was assisted by Robert Heeps & his assistant,Laura from "The Canal Inn" in Camelon. This is his final year, of many years, of his fundraising events and he split the fund between Strathcarron Hospice & the Driving Force. Co-op fund

If you have/get a co-op card-which costs £1-you earn 5% and the charities chosen by the store get 1% of the value of Co-op branded products you buy. Denny has chosen 3 charities and we are one of them.

If you shop at the Co-op please consider getting a card to help us, or other charities if you shop in other Co-op stores.

If you are in the Denny store please chat to the staff about the Driving Force so they can spread the word about us and more people will know we are there to help them.

half marathon fundraiser

Many thanks to Nic Scott and to all her friends and relations who sponsored her. Nic ran the Glasgow half marathon in aid of Driving Force. She did it in the amazing time of 2 hours and 10 minutes and raised the even more amazing total of £1215.52.

Event: Bingo Night

We are having a Bingo Night on Friday 21st October at St Joseph's Church Hall, Bonnybridge at 7pm. Tickets £1 adults 50p children. Please tell anyone you know who enjoys a good night out. Tickets are available from 01324 826213/811430/819312 There will be a raflle and sandwiches.

Here are some amazing figures: since we started we have driven 694 people on 8981 journeys with a total mileage of 427937 miles. In the last year we drove 123 people on 1466 journeys, total mileage 67818. Many thanks to all our drivers and coordinators.

Fishing day donation

Many thanks to the masons of Stirlingshire who had an angling day and donated the fantastic total of £1,500! The person presenting the cheque from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire is Alistair T Marshall (Provincial Grand Master). To the right of Dr McCalister is Ross Hardie (Master of local Lodge Dolphin No. 911).

Golfing doll's birthday fundraiser

Many thanks to Annie Philpot and her friends who knitted an amazing golfer doll. Guessing his birthday raised the fantastic total of £313.65 which is being split between us and Strathcarron hospice. Especial thanks to Caitlin and Erin who sold many tickets. The photo shows Bridget and Caitlin.

Coffee morning

Many thanks to all those who helped with and attended the coffee morning on Saturday. We made the amazing total of £642.71. Thanks also to St Helen's for once again letting us use their hall and all their facilities, not to mention their fantastic team of bakers, tea-makers and washer uppers.
